Acid will cause oxidation of sulfur-iron minerals in granite and cause yellowing. Acid will also decompose calcium carbonate contained in marble, causing erosion of stone surface; alkali will erode feldspar and quartz telluride in granite. Crystallization causes the phenomenon of grain peeling.

Do not wax at will

There are many types of waxes on the market, such as water-based waxes, stearic acid waxes, oily waxes, acrylic waxes, and the like. These waxes basically contain acid and alkali substances. Long-term use will not only block the pores of the stone, but also make the stone stained with dirt and dust to form wax scale, which will cause yellowing on the surface of the stone.

If it is a stone floor with extremely high frequency of pedestrians and goods, it needs to be waxed frequently, but it should be waxed by a professional maintenance company. In order to keep the stone "breathing smoothly", it should be avoided to cover the surface of the stone with carpets and other sundries, otherwise the moisture can not be volatilized, and the stone will cause problems such as stone lesions due to the increase of water content.

Cleaning work is very important

Whether it is granite or marble, it is not resistant to long-term erosion of sand and soil particles. Therefore, dust collectors and electrostatic mops should be used frequently to thoroughly remove dust and clean the work.
